DANCES WITH WHEELS

We explore the intersection of art, advocacy, disability, and humanity through our innovative dance and film productions

Every. Body. Dance.

Disability Advocacy

Disability is one of many forms of human diversity. Our works and initiatives reflect fierce advocacy for ethical, social, and economic justice for disabled people around the world

Artistic Excellence

Art is a radical means of commenting on the world, and in doing so, we seek to perform with technical precision, clarity, and safety. Every BODY deserves to dance, and so we are seeking collaborations, commissions, and ideas for future ventures

Fund Raising

Our efforts to raise funds supports furthering our creative endeavors as well as supporting a variety of disability advocacy organizations. We are almost entirely funded by private donations and commissions for performances and presentations

Push Boundaries

It is our commitment to make art without borders to class, race, identity, disability, gender, etc. ALL BODIES tell stories, and we venture to uncover them through art and performance

My many years in a physically integrated dance company taught me more than just to look at each body's potential for movement.

Touring to often a wide variety of spaces, indoors and out, learning to utilize the unique quality of any space to adapt to the surface: How does it lean? Is the ground flat or textured? How much is viable space for quick movement, where must one go slow? Working with partners of varying size and abilities, transposing on the spot.

This is the fundamental art statement for those in disabled bodies, and any "othered" body. We navigate a world that tries to make us feel broken.

Dance, when you're broken open. Dance, if you've torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you're perfectly free.
