Furniture
There are people who see others
as merely furniture.
Moving from room to room,
they are deciding
whom to re-upholster,
whom to replace,
who no longer suits a purpose,
clashes with the decore
or just isn’t comfortable anymore.
Perhaps,
there is a favorite chair,
a well-lit desk,
or a warm bed……
But they will curse it just the same
when they bump into it
stumbling in the dark.
